Welcome to the Kind Resonance Blog – Online Yoga, Sound Baths & Wellbeing in Cheshire
Hello and welcome to the very first Kind Resonance blog!
I’ve been meaning to create this little corner of the website for a while. A place where I can share more about yoga, sound baths, meditation, relaxation and wellbeing, as well as what’s happening at Kind Resonance here in Cheshire and online.
And it feels like the perfect time to begin, because something new is happening next week...
Live Online Yoga at Home Starts This Monday
On Monday 21st September, Kind Resonance launches its first live online Yoga at Home class.
The class will take place every Monday evening at 7pm, lasts approximately 45 minutes, and you can join me live from the comfort of your own home via Google Meet.
No travelling. No worrying about getting somewhere after work. No wondering whether you’ll know what you’re doing when you walk into a yoga studio.
Just roll out your yoga mat, grab anything you might need to make yourself comfortable and join me from your own space.
The classes are based around Hatha Yoga, with an emphasis on mindful movement, breathing, slowing down and giving yourself some much-needed time away from the demands of everyday life.
If you’ve ever searched for online yoga classes for beginners, live yoga classes from home, Hatha yoga online or simply an accessible way to practise yoga without having to attend a studio, Yoga at Home could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
And you absolutely do not need to be flexible to do yoga.
Yoga isn't about getting your foot behind your head or performing the perfect pose. For me, it is much more about learning to listen to your body, connecting movement with your breath and giving your nervous system an opportunity to slow down.
You are always encouraged to work at your own level.
Why Choose an Online Yoga Class?
There are lots of reasons people prefer practising yoga at home.
Perhaps you feel a little nervous about attending your first yoga class. Maybe evenings are busy and travelling to a venue makes fitting a class into your week difficult. Or perhaps you simply love the idea of finishing your practice and already being at home – with no cold drive back afterwards!
A live online yoga class gives you the convenience of home while still providing the structure and connection of practising with a teacher in real time.
Unlike a pre-recorded yoga video, you know that other people are rolling out their mats and practising alongside you.
It creates a gentle sense of accountability too. Sometimes putting a yoga video on your “I'll do that later” list means, inevitably, later never quite arrives!
Having a regular Monday evening yoga class can become a lovely way to mark the transition from the weekend into a new week.
A little pause.
A breath.
Forty-five minutes that are simply yours.
From Online Yoga to Sound Baths Across Cheshire
While Yoga at Home is the newest addition to Kind Resonance, many people first discover me through our Sound Bath sessions in Cheshire.
Kind Resonance currently offers regular Sound Baths in Holmes Chapel, Middlewich and Macclesfield, welcoming people from across Cheshire and the surrounding areas.
If you have never experienced a Sound Bath before, the name can be slightly confusing.
And no – there is no actual bath involved!
A Sound Bath is an immersive relaxation experience where you lie comfortably on a mat while being surrounded by sounds and vibrations created using instruments such as singing bowls, chimes and other sound healing instruments.
There is nothing that you have to achieve.
You don't have to be good at meditation.
You don't have to empty your mind.
You don't have to concentrate on anything in particular.
You simply get comfortable and allow yourself to listen.
Sound Baths in Holmes Chapel, Middlewich & Macclesfield
Our regular Cheshire Sound Bath sessions take place at:
Holmes Chapel Community Centre – Holmes Chapel, Cheshire
Middlewich Community Centre – Middlewich, Cheshire
Macclesfield Leisure Centre – Macclesfield, Cheshire
Each Sound Bath lasts approximately one hour and is designed to offer you a quiet space away from everyday noise, responsibilities and constant stimulation.
People come to our Sound Baths for all sorts of reasons. Some are looking for relaxation or support with a busy, overthinking mind. Others enjoy meditation, yoga or holistic wellbeing practices and want to explore sound meditation.
Some people simply want an hour where nobody needs anything from them.
And that is a perfectly good reason too.
Many of the people who attend Kind Resonance Sound Baths have never experienced sound healing, sound therapy or even meditation before. You don't need any previous experience and there is no “right” way to experience a Sound Bath.
You might feel deeply relaxed.
You might notice different sensations as the sounds change.
You might find your mind wandering before gradually becoming quieter.
You might even fall asleep – and yes, that happens regularly!
Every experience is different.
Creating Space to Slow Down
Although Hatha Yoga and Sound Baths might seem like very different wellbeing practices, there is actually a common thread running through everything I offer at Kind Resonance.
It is about creating space.
Modern life gives us very little encouragement to stop.
We work, scroll, organise, plan, drive, answer messages, look after other people and mentally rehearse tomorrow while we are still trying to get through today.
Even when we finally sit down, our brains often don't receive the message that we've stopped.
Practices such as gentle yoga, meditation, breath awareness and Sound Baths offer an intentional opportunity to slow things down.
Not because we need to become different people.
Not because every moment has to be perfectly calm.
But because sometimes our minds and bodies need a bit of quiet.
That's what I want Kind Resonance to offer.
